Happy birthday!

To who? Toddler Wily! A year ago today, Jenni unassumingly went to work... and then, just after lunch, Toddler Wily joined our family.

Duplicitous?

Toddler Wily is quite deceiving.

She looks cute.


And smiley.


Until she turns her little truck (see image above) into a mobile step stool to get to all sorts of things that you thought were well out of her reach! Once again, a behavior not fully explained in the mythical owner's manual!

A Sunday Stroll

The fall weather is settling in and what better way to enjoy the cool air and bright sunshine than with a walk/bike around the block.

At some point Toddler Wily will learn that you don't have to walk with your hands up over your head.


In the meantime, she'll stop to smell the flowers.


Racing ahead on the balance bike (wearing a dress, no less).

and gradually expands to engage the entire space using a robust compliment of colors.

One fish, two fish!

Red fish, blue fish. Toddler Wily started swim lessons at the local Y and, just as her sister, she is a fish. From jumping in to chasing toys, Toddler Wily loves every minute in the water.

Toddler Jeneric looks on with detachment to rival the most seasoned parent.


Hi Mama! Did you see me jump in the water?




All done!


And for those who want to know, the answer to Monday's post was, indeed, pat the bunny
- and yes, we did get the capitalization correct.

Because we can...

"Paul and Judy can do lots of things..."* and so can Toddlers Jeneric and Wily.

1. We can play follow the leader.

(Do note the wee cat, who, unbeknown to her, is the leader in this particular game.)


(Lady Argon is currently wondering when the small humans got so fast and whether they are yet capable of opening a can of soft cat food.)

2. We can ride/push the Sesame Street truck.

(Toddler Jeneric: Please keep all feet and hands inside the car at all times. Enjoy your ride!)
(Toddler Wily: Is this theme park paying the attendants more than minimum wage?)



3. We can stand on our head.

(Also: we can make a cogent case for why pants in the afternoon are entirely optional.)

*Bonus points if you can name the book - without googling it!

Our local, independent toy store moved (closer!) this past weekend. To celebrate the grand opening of their new location, they had, among other things, free henna tattoos. Toddler Jeneric was enthralled - and waited patiently to get her own.



She is quite pleased with the results.

Teeth!

Wily Jeneric children don't teeth early. Toddler Wily busted out 2 teeth several months ago and then, ptht! Nothing, nadda. Until... last weekend, when it seemed appropriate to push out her 2 top teeth and show definite signs of 2 more. So teething? Yeah, we haz it.

We now return to our previous post theme - Toddler Jeneric's favorite things and the guests who go along for the ride. On Sunday, we hit the local pool, where NB had his first experience with a zero-entry pool.

Toddler Jeneric took countless trips down the frog slide.




And Toddler Wily explored the deeper depths of the pool.


NB hung out with Dad on the side of the pool.


And then, Jenni got a little skittish with all the splashing and put the camera away. Thanks for visiting, NB - come back any time!

TODDLER WILY! (what, you thought we'd gotten a puppy?)


If you define a toddler as one who toddles, well, Baby, er, Toddler Wily does just that. Every day she toddles farther. Can running after Toddler Jeneric be far behind? Here she is, doing many toddler-like things.

This weekend brought Ninja Baby and his family south of the border. We did many of Toddler Jeneric's favorite things, including playing in the park.
