Wednesday is the new random

In the blogosphere, Wednesday is often a tough day for blog fodder. After all, Wednesday is hump day. In light of this, many blogs opt for the smörgåsbord approach, creating a veritable hodge podge of short ideas. With that in mind, we present Random Wednesday at Wily Jeneric.

1. Just my size.
March26
In what may be the latest Christmas gift ever, we finally found the perfect table and chairs for Toddler Jeneric. With an African safari theme, Toddler Jeneric can now color, sticker or whatever to her heart's content. Bonus feature: we located this set in the kitchen, which gives Toddler Jeneric her own work space while Dad's preparing dinner.

2. Finding a good bagel in the midwest.
March30a

March30d
We've concluded that the palate of a midwesterner is distinctly different from a New Yorker. Folks around here love their bagels. We don't. In despair, Eric challenged the Wily Jeneric family to make their own. Above, you can see part of the process and the results - just like La Bagel used to make! Crunchy exterior, soft, fluffy interior. Eight perfect specimens of an east coast bagel.

3. Applesauce update.
At last check, the jar was half full (or half empty, if you're a pessimist). Still in the Applesauce Contest running:
1. East Coast Grammy & Grampy
2. Barbit
3. Mystery Politico
Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion - any minute now. Unless she goes on a 'sauce strike.

Egg-cellent Dye Job

Easter at Chez Wily Jeneric was a low-key affair. We roasted a turkey, with many trimming (no mashed potatoes, though - they'd sprouted into a forest while we were gone). The highlight, of course, was egg dying. Toddler Jeneric supervised (the dye was too hot for tiny fingers to handle) {and just possibly mom was worried about dyeing the floor...}.

The fancy egg was the brainchild of Eric. Snazzy huh? Of course, it was no match to Jenni's plain Jane egg in the egg fight!

Bonus Wily Jeneric Update: We have embarked on the very. last. jar of applesauce. When will Toddler Jeneric slurp the last spoonful? Tune in next time for the exciting conclusion to the Applesauce Adventures!

We now return to our regularly scheduled blogging

Maybe. We're going to try. The main blogging party has been sick and tired for many weeks. Now that she's on the mend (maybe?), the main blogging unit broke (but really, a 6-year old laptop? It was time. And really, it's not a fatal injury - the screen hinge merely snapped. The wires are in-tact and if you hold the screen really steady, it works well. But if you breath, well, it goes to fuzz.).

But! We have pictures of Toddler Jeneric and Baby Wily. We will post them! Soon! Maybe! Who knows!

Until then, we are hunting for Spring here in MI. Who's idea was it to move here? There is no spring, only winter, winter, winter. Do not try and make light of this - people, we don't even have blooming crocuses. It snowed multiple inches last night. There is snow in Tuesday's forecast. My sandals have sold themselves on e-Bay.

Florida is Fine!

And we'll be sad to leave. We've traded snow and ice for sun and ice cream.

There was bubble fun.

Beach combing.

Time with Grammy (and Grampy, too).

And spashing in the pool.

Ah, Michigan, we'll be back soon.

Vitals

Toddler Jeneric had her 15-month check up late last week. We dutifully present an update:

Height: 32 and 1/4 inches (95th percentile)
Weight: 25 lbs, 2 oz (80th percentile)
Vaccines: three, taken like a champ

Her growth prompted us to check her shoe-size - yep, too small (no wonder she's been balling her left foot for the last week). We're up to a size 6!
