Observe before committing
Toddler Jeneric was in need of a haircut. So was Aunt Kelly. Do you see where this is going?
Step 1. Observe.

Step 2. Try out the chair.

Step 3. Wash that hair!

Step 4. Cut.

Step 5. Blow dry.

Step 6. "One more thing."
Toddler Jeneric had keenly watched Aunt Kelly's haircut - all the way to the very end, when the stylist put mousse (or something) in Aunt Kelly's hair. After the blow drying was done, Toddler Jeneric confidently said, "One more thing! One more thing!" The stylist spritzed some hairspray about 3 feet above Toddler Jeneric's head and poof! We were done.

Results of the latest gallup poll
Er, Wily Jeneric Poll. The summary stats are in the upper right-hand corner. Most readers placed their bets on Baby Wily's height exceeding the car seat's limit.
The data are in. Drum roll? (insert funny drum roll noise in your head now)
Weight: 16 lb 3 oz (85th percentile)
Height: 25" (62nd percentile)
Perhaps her tall gene has yet to activate. Or perhaps we should cry 'foul!' at the measurement techniques used at the doctor's office. Independent measures of Baby Wily logged in heights of 25.5" and 26.5". That gives us a mean of 25.7 with a StDev of 0.82. Which means Baby Wily is indeed shorter than the 26" limit of her car seat.

(Baby Wily helps Aunt Kelly with the math.)
Next poll: When will Baby Wily's height exceed the maximum limit of her car seat?

The best toys
remain the classics - blocks, in this case.

The architect takes a break to admire her work.

The creative process.

Take a tour of block town - note the castle with moat in the foreground. In the back, we have two towers - one for Toddler Jeneric, the other for Baby Wily. Beyond the towers flow several rivers, each with a stop sign.

And then King Kong Jeneric came through.
