Teeth!

Wily Jeneric children don't teeth early. Toddler Wily busted out 2 teeth several months ago and then, ptht! Nothing, nadda. Until... last weekend, when it seemed appropriate to push out her 2 top teeth and show definite signs of 2 more. So teething? Yeah, we haz it.

I'm walking, yes indeed

Baby Wily is eager to keep up with big sister Toddler Jeneric. For the past month, she's tentatively taken a few steps here and there. This week, the wheels are clicking and Baby Wily is off to the races.

By a hair!

This week brought Baby Niemi and her family to Wily Jeneric's house, as they made the trek from NC to MN.

Baby Wily welcomed Avalon and the two quickly got the party started.


Toddler Jeneric led an excursion to a local children's garden.
Back at the ranch, Avalon helped Toddler Jeneric with ski jumping (on the Wii) and then danced the night away with Baby Wily. And despite her best efforts, Avalon was unsuccessful in teaching Baby Wily to sit down (though she did leave her with a few new dance moves).

On an unrelated note: Baby Wily is now sporting two shiny new teeth. Chomp, chomp!

Swing time!

Taking advantage of the nice weather on Friday, Eric took the girls to the playground. They met up with a good friend for a merry old time:

Then Toddler Jeneric showed Baby Wily the finer points of swinging.




And speaking of swinging, Baby Wily threw some serious mood swings on Thursday and Friday and on Saturday... out popped her first tooth!

Boy, was that exhausting!

Mobility

As many have predicted, Baby Wily is focusing her time on figuring out how to keep up with Toddler Jeneric. Baby Wily hasn't picked up any bruises yet, but we have certainly done a lot of wincing watching her do a face plant when she gives up on trying to crawl. She has managed a few feet of forward crawling motion, as well as a tentative bit of cruising from one piece of furniture to another. Just in case you think we're taking too much latitude with our definition of mobility, you can judge for yourself:



Now that Baby Wily has had a taste of walking, her attention span for sitting still is about 30 seconds.
