Little Miss Fix-It

Turns out we have a girl who likes to help with household repairs. Toddler Jeneric helped Eric fine tune Jenni's bike (although in the end, it wasn't much improved - a 15+ year old bike isn't the easiest of fixes).

Then, you ought to consult on what
needs doing.
First, you need the right tools for the job.

July 4

Jenni's boss (mentor?) hosted a July 4th BBQ - complete with little people:

Dog training:

The BBQ came equipped with a dog agility training course. Toddler Jeneric enjoyed bossing around the dogs, trying to keep them away from the course.

and tasty food:

What girl doesn't like a fizzy treat (mmm - pomegranate!)?

Baby Wily raced the dogs for Cheerios (and almost won!).

Here, the reigning triathlon champion (ladies senior division)(aka Jenni's boss) gives Baby Wily a few tricks for speed.

The upstairs window

Toddler Jeneric has, as of late, gone quite off of napping. As she isn't tired, she casts about for anything she might do that doesn't involve sleeping. This past weekend, we discovered her passing the time chatting with the neighbor:

When I asked her what she was up to, she said she was waiting to talk to our other neighbor!

Out and about

The 4th of July weekend gave us a break from the overcast sies and bouts of rain we've had the past week. The Wily Jeneric family took advantage, with a walk about our college campus.

Children's books

In light of the wave of births occurring around the Wily Jeneric family and since Toddler Jeneric and Baby Wily are such a bibliophiles, we thought we'd take a moment to educate those with kids (or soon to have kids) about the current literary fiction available for the under-3 crowd. Here we present a quick rundown of a few Wily Jeneric favorites.

Rainbow Fish
Modern parable about sharing    or    How to manual for bribery and rampant consumerism?

Bob the Builder
Instilling a can-do attitude nationwide    or    Introducing our youth to the perils of micromanaging?

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Story of a cathartic caterpillar    or    Another hippy high on weed?

Olivia
Exuberant and creative pig teaches children they can do and be anything    or    Spoiled pig with permissive parents?

Goodnight Moon
Beloved classic with comforting repetition that soothes children    or    An OCD tot who will end up washing his hands 26 times before breakfast?
