Color Castle

Jeneric finally decided to spend some of her Christmas money and look what she found!

The coloring alone will provide hours (weeks?) of fun not to mention the actual imagining of queens and princesses and dragons and fairies. Jeneric is quite excited about the dragon - she made a dragon mask in preschool to celebrate Chinese New Year and can't wait to bring it home!

Swimming with imagination

Sometimes it's just too cold to get to the swimming pool. In such instances, it's best to take matters to the imaginative level.

Introducing Puppy Pete

Sometimes Puppy Pete is friendly and you can pet him. Sometimes Puppy Pete is mean and bites. It's wise to ask first before petting Pete (or any puppy).

For the birds

Jeneric and Toddler Wily received plain birdhouses for Christmas - with paint. Eric found his brave suit and took the girls to the basement to paint the birdhouses (the paint was a slight departure from the washable Crayola paint we're used to!).

Don't worry Dad. We've got this under control.

A very deliberate artist, Jeneric has painted stripes on the birdhouse roof and concentric circles around the door.

Kitty tunes

Toddler Wily feels very strongly that Lady Argon (a cat) is mostly human. To wit, Toddler Wily gives Lady Argon a chance to listen to some music.

Time flies

Sorry for the lack of blog posts last week. We were out of town over the weekend and never quite found enough time to put together a post (or two). We hope to make up for that this week and so we begin with a recap of our trip out of town.

Just your ordinary hotel shenanigans, including photos staged by Jeneric:

(How many differences can you spot between these two photos?!)

And swimming fun.

(Jeneric is spitting water like a fountain.)

Toddler Wily discovered the hot tub bubbles.

Lazy days and Sundays

Are for making streusel-topped coffeecake muffins.

And the occasional moose ears.
