Oh, eew!

That's the reaction of most people when we tell them about Eric's Achilles tendon. Snapped clean in two, what we thought was swelling was actually the tendon. Yeah - eew.

But you're probably tuning in for an update on Baby Wily. Both Baby and Mama passed their tests today (a non-stress test and ultrasound) so we're good to go. We'll keep you posted.

In the meantime, we leave you with some fantastic images!

Here's Eric's right leg:

And here's the left!:

How awesome is that?

Just be glad that it is the left ankle (and that you don't have a standard car) or you would be driving yourself to the hospital while in labour.

Glad to know both of you passed your tests.

How long will the surgery keep Eric down.

Nonsense. The obvious solution in such a circumstance would be for Eric to steer while Toddler Jeneric controls the pedals. (Jenni would be giving Toddler Jeneric verbal instructions with regard to which pedals to press, and with what amount of force.)

No weight on the foot for 1 month, able to carry things in my arms for the second month, and after that depends on my progress. Also, note that the bad ankle shows a lack of a tendon - we thought that the tendon was hidden by swelling around it.

I was thinking of Eric when I was at the doctor today for my rotator cuff. It sure sucks to become injured right before you become a parent!! Hopefully he's on the fast road to recovery. Did they do surgery yet?
